HERZ Water strainers are essential components to protect sensitive installation elements by capturing and removing
particles from the medium flowing through the system.
These strainers safeguard finely machined valve seats, pumps, and other critical components, enhancing system
reliability and longevity.

Operating pressure: up to 25 bar
Operating temperature range: -30°C to +130 °C (water 0,5 °C to 95 °C)
Sieve: stainless steel, single, meshed perforation 0,5mm
Plug seals: EPDM
Medium:
Heating water quality according to ÖNORM H5195 or VDI-Standard 2035. The use of ethylene or propylene glycol in a
mixing ratio 25- 50% is allowed. Please refer to manufacturers documentation when using ethylene glycol products for
frost and corrosion protection. HERZ water strainers for heating and chilled water is not suitable for usage of agressive
medium (such as: acids, alkalis, combustible and explosive gases..) because it can destroy sealing components.

The system where the HERZ Water Strainer is installed must be thoroughly flushed to remove any dirt or debris that may
have accumulated during installation.
Failure to do so can negatively impact the performance of the strainer and void the manufacturer's warranty.
Installation Guidelines
Filter Installation: It is always advisable to install filters of appropriate capacity at the inlet of the water supply to prevent
large particles from entering the system.
Aggressive Water: In areas with highly aggressive water, proper water treatment must be arranged before it enters the
HERZ Water Strainer to ensure optimal performance and durability.
Unobstructed Access: Ensure that access to the HERZ Water Strainer remains clear to allow for any required maintenance.
The surrounding pipework must not obstruct maintenance or removal tasks.
Pipe Support: The pipework leading to and from the HERZ Water Strainer must not bear the weight of the strainer itself.
Proper support structures should be used to avoid stress on the connections.
Thread Sealing: Use suitable sealing materials, such as spinning material, Teflon tape, or sealing paste, when connecting
the HERZ Water Strainer to the pipework. Avoid excessive use of sealing material, as it can damage the threads.
Pipe Alignment: Ensure all connecting pipes are correctly aligned to prevent bending moments on the strainer, which
could compromise its functionality.
Material Considerations: When using copper or plastic pipes, verify that their pressure and temperature ratings are
suitable for the operating conditions.
Assembly and Testing
Always use a suitable assembly tool that matches the end connections of the HERZ Water Strainer to avoid damage
during installation.
After installation, the connections must be thoroughly checked for water-tightness by the installer.
All engineering standards and recognized regulations should be followed by qualified personnel during installation and
maintenance.
Important Note
The nut on top of the HERZ Water Strainer can be opened only in case of cleaning the filter. Otherwise it should not be
tampered with, as it contains an O-ring responsible for sealing.
No additional sealing material should be applied to this area. Any modification can compromise the strainer's functionality
and void the warranty.
By adhering to these guidelines, the HERZ Water Strainer will ensure reliable and efficient operation, protecting sensitive
system components and maintaining optimal water quality.
